You may have read through my article on 17 Creative Radiation Protective Designs that I posted a few months ago. One of the items featured on the list was the HARApad Radiation Protection Design, and I purchased one just to test it out. This post is a review of the HARApad that I purchased, along with my thoughts and comments on the product.

INTRODUCTION TO THE HARAPAD

The  HARApad stands for Heat and Radiation Attenuating Pad and it is a specially designed pad for laptop users that boasts the ability to block nearly 100% off the radiation emitted from the bottom of your laptop.

The HARApad is supposed to be place under your laptop. The way it works is that the special material it is made from allows the radiation to be absorbed through the pad and routed back into your laptop so that the EMF and laptop heat doesn’t reach your body.

It is designed for people who normally use their laptop on their lap, so it protects your legs and vital organs. However, you may be wondering. If I don’t usually use my laptop on my lap, but mostly on the table, will the HARApad be helpful. This is something I asked Russ Willacker, co-founder of HARApad LLC, as well, and he mentioned that:

The HARApad will be equally as effective in eliminating your exposure to radiation, though on a desk, you will also have the advantage of the distance between the computer and your body.  In our research, we have found that 5-8 inches is typically the range where EMF begins to fall away to safe levels as emitted by laptop computers.

THE PACKAGE

After ordering my HARApad, when the package arrived, I found that it consisted of the HARApad itself, as well as some instructional documents. These documents outline the benefits you are getting with the pad, explanation on the importance of EMF reduction, as well as how you can best use the HARApad.

THE HARAPAD

The HARAPAD comes in 4 different sizes and colors that you can choose from. As you can see from the images below, I ordered the extra large one, and black in color. You can choose the right size depending on the size of laptop or netbook you are using.

The HARApad features a front and back side. The front size has the HARApad logo embossed on it. However, it doesn’t matter whether you face it front or back. It will be just as effective either way.

PUTTING IT UNDER THE LAPTOP

At first I was a little worried that I might have ordered too large of a size, but when I tried it out under my laptop, I found that it fit perfectly. You can view the pictures of the front and back of my laptop with the HARApad in use below:

EFFECTIVENESS OF THE HARAPAD

I think that I won’t need to comment on the effectiveness of the pad, because there are various videos out there already showing the testing done on the pad in reducing EMF emission levels. Here is one of those videos:

So far, the result have been quite satisfactory for me after using the HARApad for quite some time. Normally, after I finish using my laptop, I often find my mind a bit blurry and hazy. This has since disappeared after using the HARApad. So I can say that it works well.

CONCLUSIONS

Overall, I’m very satisfied with my HARApad and glad that I have one. The only disadvantage that I’ve found to the pad so far is that it only blocks the radiation emissions from the bottom of the laptop. There is still some radiation that escapes from the top through the keyboard area.

In order to counter this, I’m using another radiation absorption product called the Zerocom, which I’ll review another time. I hope you enjoyed this HARApad review. You can click on the link below for more details on the HARApad if you are interested in them:
