Summary: Huang Guofu is an armless painter and artist…
I often ask people, if you don’t enjoy the job that you’re doing, why are you still doing it? Almost every single time, the response is an excuse of some sort or other. If you have an area of strong artistic talent and interest, why are you not pursuing it? Again more excuses.
It’s too hard for me. I’m not smart enough I can’t do it. I don’t have enough experience. I always got low marks in school. I never got a college education. My friends told me that I couldn’t do it. My parents told me that there’s no future in that. My teachers told me that I would never amount to anything. I’m afraid that people I know will look down on me. I’m afraid that I will fail…
~ Younger Generation
Huang Guofu is a man who doesn’t make excuses. He lost his arms at the age of 4 in a terrible accident involving electricity. But he never gave up his dream of becoming an artist and taught himself to paint by foot and mouth. He is now the vice-curator of the Chongqing Talents Museum, creating sought-after public masterpieces.
I want to let the younger generation know that there are no real obstacles in life. The only obstacle is if you want to do it…
~Huang Guofu
Be like Huang Guofu. Stop making excuses…
